Island Hopping in Hvar | OOTD*

Hey beach babes!

Hope you're all well and have been enjoying our unusually lovely summer! As most of you will already know due to all my Insta spamming, I recently got back from the most glorious trip to Croatia. My gorgeous gal Lizzie and I visited Split and Hvar for 10 long days of drinking, debauchery and a little culture for good measure.

We both only brought hand luggage with us (because really, who wants to fork out an extra £40 each way for a couple more pairs of shoes that you probably don't need anyway) so when packing, I tried to choose pieces and outfits that took up minimum space but provided maximum results - basically I proceeded to try on every possible outfit I was taking and sent over many a mirror selfie to Lizzie for approval. 5 hours later (I jest), I was ready. The cute AF outfit I'm featuring in this post is from Boohoo and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it so I hope you do too!

One of the coolest things about Croatia is that you can hop from one island to another easier than one would jump in an Uber on a night out, half eaten maccies in hand. Whilst staying in Hvar we visited one of the Pakleni Islands called Stipanska (where we shot these photos) via one of the many cheap taxi boats that run throughout the day. We'd already been to the island a couple of evenings prior to this, because as soon as night falls, the cute backdrop behind me becomes part of a huge open air club called Carpe Diem - which is an absolute must if you're visiting Hvar.

We headed over to the island bright and early for some sunbathing and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters and rented a couple of sun loungers at Carpe Diem Beach Club. (FYI the sun loungers cost the same to rent for an hour or for the whole day, so the earlier you get there the more you get for your money! If there's more than a couple of you I'd suggest booking too, cause we got the last two free sunbeds at 10.30am!)

After splashing around for hours on end like the mermaids we are, Lizzie and I headed back to the main section of the island to do our lil photoshoot. As well as forgetting to pack face powder or ANY make-up apart from lipstick, I also forgot to bring underwear (smooth, I know), so when Lizzie suggested I sit on one of the bar stools for one of the photos, I decided against it, so as to avoid that Sharon Stone moment in Basic Instinct.

I re-wore this outfit on a night out in Split cause I loved it so much, and it got so many compliments! The tie section of the Red Ruffle Crop is a separate piece of fabric so you can tie it as tight as you want making it super flattering no matter what your boob size! (Yay for all the boobs!) The skirt comes in a slightly longer option without the split hem too, and I'd fully recommend you getting either if you're in the market for a new black denim skirt! I love the contrast stitch detail, plus the fabric is such a comfy denim blend, which also doesn't seem to ride up. And that's a win in my book.

I forgot to mention the sexy accessory I'm sporting on my right wrist - my yellow Carpe Diem club wristband from the night before! Oh the glamour.

So who's already in need of another holiday? I'm off to California in a week which I'm beyond excited about! Where are your next trips abroad?

Thanks for reading your Dose of Fashion (and a little Travel too!)

  9. Island in Hvar is best known as a summer resort. Highlights of the port town Hvar include its 13th-century walls, a hilltop fortress and a main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Hvar Cathedral.
