Colourpop Haul with MyMallbox*

Hey loves!

As you may or may not know, I have a serious obsession with Colourpop make-up. I first ordered from them back in March ahead of a family trip to New York and had it delivered to our hotel, as at the time they didn't deliver to the UK. They do now provide UK shipping with a very hefty price tag plus there's the issue of being caught out by customs and paying a zillion pounds in order to receive your order from the post office. (And let's be real, I have NOT got time for that). I use a shipping company called MyMallbox for my Colourpop orders and I've only ever had a great experience with them. (There's also a discount code at the bottom) But more on that later...

Love a good cheese pun
Can you believe this package had been sitting untouched and unswatched in my room for a month? Quite frankly, me neither, but it had, until two days ago when I swatched these beauties and had a little photoshoot with a very rare appearance from the sun. #DoItForTheBlog

As you'll probably notice, this haul consists purely of lip products, and that's just because Colourpop do them so darn well; great formulas, colour range and price!

First up are the two Ultra Satin Lip's I purchased. Now if you're a fan of liquid lipsticks but not keen on how drying they can be, then you'll love these. Especially since being on various acne medications, most 'Matte' products really emphasise the lines in my lips and/or the colour bleeds (no thank you) so when I discovered this formula back in March, I fell in love and have been adding to my collection ever since! Plus at $6 a pop, what's not to like?!

The lighter shade, November is part of the Kathleen Lights collab, and I'm always keen to try her products or brands she's endorsed as I am a HUGE fan. It's a beautiful muted peachy-pink, so it's extremely wearable and completely opaque with one coat. The second is Baracuda, part of the Fall collection which is a brown-toned plum shade. (I wore it all day at work today and the colour didn't bleed OR stain my lips, and I only reapplied once over the 8 hours.) I have Frick N Frack from Colourpop which appears lighter in the tube, but is very similar, just has a slightly more reddish-brown hue.

I also tried an Ultra Metallic in Mugshot, which I bought in the hope it would be a dupe for Reign from Kylie Cosmetics. It's absolutely not (silly me) but it's still a gorgeous iridescent red that's unlike anything in my collection and perfect for a Christmas Party look! (Not to mention it's about a third of the price of the Kylie one.) The Ultra Glossy Lip in Weho has a Crème formula so it's got a good amount of pigment and is a nice peachy-nude every day gloss.

Clockwise from left, November, Baracuda, Mug Shot & Weho

(Top to bottom: November, Baracuda, Mugshot, Weho)

Next up are the Lippie Stix. I LOVE THESE THINGS! They're so lightweight on your lips you could actually forget you are wearing them. Colourpop has really stepped up their formula game with these, the new Matte X finish is what dreams are made of. The original Matte finish tugged on my lips slightly, and was not as comfortable, whereas the Matte X is so pigmented and applies really smoothly, very much like the Maybelline Creamy Mattes. (Another Ride or Die of mine) So when I saw that Colourpop was finally selling a value set just in this finish, it went straight in my basket!

The set is called 'Persuede Me' & comes in a cute as pie box.

OOOH the blurry background

From top to bottom:

Upside Down - Light peach nude, Just enough warmth not to wash me out, won't suit all skin tones.
Hotline - Dirty peach nude, So creamy and wearable, very similar to MAC Velvet Teddy.
Zigger - Deep terracotta brown, I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE!
Daydream - Cool Mauve/brown, slightly patchy, 90's grunge vibes but still wearable on all skin tones
Goldie - Brick Red w blue undertone, beautiful 40's classic red, similar to Ultra Satin London Fog
Le Freak - Blackened Red, Hella vampy, so pigmented, slightly lighter than Kat Von D Vampira.

Why are swatches so pleasing to look at?!

A little on MyMallbox, and then you can go about your day:
They're a forwarding and shipping service based in Delaware, USA and are super handy for making large orders from overseas AKA when the brand doesn't deliver to the UK/charge ridiculous shipping/you wanna avoid paying hefty duties fees.  Nuh-uh girlfriend

You can set up a postbox with them and estimate your delivery charge for free (My three orders have been between $12-$18 to ship each) and when you place an order, you use your new postbox as your delivery address. In the US, tax is added onto all items at checkout, but as Delaware is a tax free state you'll save that too! When MyMallbox recieve your order, they can hold it for up to 90 days if you're waiting for other packages to arrive, and you can choose to 'Consolidate your order' AKA repackage it into a one smaller parcel. (I'd recommend this as the smaller size will save you money on shipping plus the item can be marked as a gift and the new packaging won't have a massive COLOURPOP logo on the side, tipping off the people at Customs and costing you a fortune!)

Marking the item as a gift/setting the value of the item to $5-15 is crucial for avoiding an excruciating duties bill from Customs. You can choose from several shipping methods depending on cost and timeframe for delivery, I've used the cheapest method each time and received my products within a week! I honestly couldn't recommend the service enough, there are no silly hidden costs for holding/repacking items, unlike many of the competitors, and I've only had good experiences.

I have a referral code which gives you $5 off your first shipment too, either follow this link or enter A7385 into the Referral Code section when you sign-up, to get your $5 credit. Every little helps right?!

Thanks for reading your Dose of Colourpop
